The Simpsons
The Simpsons new contract will make it the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program and the longest running American primetime entertainment series. The Simpsons have won over 25 Emmy Awards, over 25 Annie Awards and Peabody Award. Seriously, The Simpsons has won a Peabody Award. There has never been before and probably never will be again a show quite like The Simpsons.

20th Anniversary Special “In 3-D, On Ice!” Hosted by Morgan Spurlock
The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special “In 3-D, On Ice!” Hosted by Morgan Spurlock (didn't see that coming) gave a fun look at Simpsons fandom around the world, but didn't really provide any real incite to the series or feature enough time with the creators, writers or cast.
They ended with:
“Thanks for 20 wonderful years. The best is yet to come."
However, the NY Times said that the preview critics got said:
“Thanks for 20 wonderful years. Now stay tuned for three Seth MacFarlane shows.”
Not sure how this would spare Seth MacFarlanes' feelings, or rather, how this would hurt his feelings. In fact, we think its pretty funny and that MacFarlane would agree. We doubt MacFarlane would ever reject the idea that he owes much (if not all) of his success with Family Guy to The Simpsons creators, actors and creative team. MacFarlane cites The Simpsons as a primary influence for Family Guy and MacFarlane appeared on The Simpsons 20th Anniversary special and said as much; would he have done so if he harbors any ill will toward folks at The Simpsons for the fun they have poked at him over the years? Maybe they changed it because that wasn't what was going to be on FOX after The Simpsons that night - simple logic.

NYC 2009 Mayoral Race
Mr. Burns led all write in candidates in the 2009 race to be New York City Mayor, beating Derek Jeter, Howard Stern and others, with 25 votes. Seriously.
The Simpsons: A Cast of Thousands
We've divided up the cast by where they fit into the wide world of The Simpsons.
EVERGREEN TERRACE
Homer Simpson
Homer Simpson, the lovable oaf we've come to love is voiced by Dan Castellaneta, is just a fantastic realization of a character - we loved it when they added the reading glasses - classic!
Marge Simpson
Like most TV moms, Marge is married to a guy that's not good enough for her, but unlike most TV moms, Marge has actual faults, like a gambling problem. Voiced by Julie Kavner, she also does Marge's sisters and her mother.
Bart Simpson
Bart suggested we do the Bartman, and we did - we also enjoyed getting deep deep trouble... ugh, the simpsons album was a terrible, terrible mistake. Anyway, the rapscallion we call Bart is voiced by Nancy Cartwright, who does a number of the voices of other children on the show.
Lisa Simpson
Yeardley Smith brings Lisa Simpson to life, who we think will go down in television history as one of the greatest characters ever. Smith's unique voice and skill has coupled with good writing to serve as the conscious of the show, and maybe of ourselves, too.
Maggie Simpson
Oh Maggie, will you ever talk? Sure is cute, though...
Ned Flanders
Ned Flanders is voiced by Harry Shearer, who played the bass player in "This is Spinal Tap," amongst other things! Ned represents the religious wackos of America, who are predominantly Christian.
Rodd Flanders
Rodd Flanders is the oldest son of Ned and Maude Flanders. Like his parents, he's all about Jesus.
Todd Flanders
Rodd Flanders is the youngest son of Ned and Maude Flanders. Tood is also all about Jesus. He also plays the violin.
Maude Flanders (deceased)
If you get into a contract battle with your TV show, they might replace you, and then ultimately kill off your character by shooting them with a T Shirt gun at a sporting event and then letting your character flip over the back of the bleachers and falling to their death... yeah... was voiced by Maggie Roswell.
SPRINGFIELD ELEMENTARY
Ralph Wiggum
Ralph Wiggum is a slow witted classmate of Lisa's. He's been heard to great Superintendent Chalmers in this manner: "Hi Super Nintendo Chalmers!"
The Simpsons: Notable Guest Stars
Paul McCartney
Paul McCartney appeared on an episode titled, "Lisa the Vegetarian" with his wife, Linda. They were hanging out on Apu's rooftop garden when Lisa showed up. FYI, the entrance to the rooftop garden is hidden behind a mockup of a freezer door that is illustrated to look like its stocked with nonalcoholic beer:
LISA: But what do you do if someone wants a nonalcoholic beer?
APU: You know, its never come up.
