The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
Score: 4.5 out of 5
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is a fantastic satire of American news shows. Jon Stewart, as the anchor, relates current top stories and other world happenings, but most importantly, pokes fun and jabs at the establishment. Previously, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart was hosted by Craig Kilborn, who left the show for a network talk show that no one watched. Kilborn was noted for his comedic take on sports while at ESPN and then came to do the Daily Show at Comedy Central. One of his more popular segments, Five Questions, was quickly phased out when Jon Stewart replaced him. Hosting the Daily Show has revitalized Jon Stewart's career, leading to movie roles and hosting the oscars, as well making his version of The Daily Show a must appearance for politicians and entertainers alike when they're pushing whatever it is they're pushing.
Jon Stewart vs MSNBC
After taking several shots at CNBC for their lax coverage on the market, Jim Cramer, the host of “Mad Money” appeared on The Daily Show and had a conversation with Jon Stewart that pretty much went like a senate hearing when the person testifying knows they don't have a leg to stand on. Jim Cramer has appeared on several other NBC shows and shows syndicated by NBC to milk this bit of coverage, whether for good or bad. "Mad Money" is probably the most ridiculous show you'll ever see, and anyone who listens to Jim Cramer's stock tips are idiots and probably would have lost their money by purchasing some magic beans from a guy in front of the local 7/11 anyway, but, we're glad Stewart finally jumped CNBC. Bill Maher has also mentioned CNBC on his show as being part of the problem. One has to wonder if Stewart finds it amusing that he, a fake newsman, has become part of the fake news, as the Stewart vs Cramer story has blown up all over the media, including other cable networks like CNN. Well covered, CNN; nothing else going on in the world besides cable talk show personalities bickering with each other.
