Jets miss playoffs
We hate to say we told you so, but, as predicted, the Jets missed the playoffs again, despite the addition of Brett Favre. After watching him in those games after their 8-3 start, he was just awful. Jets 2007 Blog: Jets keep Miami winless
The Jets old school look helped deliver a new school butt kicking today. OK, that's not especially funny, but the rival Dolphins are still winless, and you have to like that. It's a lost season, so at least you can take solace in the Dolphins own misery. But the bottom line is, Jets fans will have to wait till next year.
A Brief Jets History
The New York Jets, founded in 1960, were the New York Titans until Sonny Werblin bought the team in 1963 and renamed them. The Jets were the first AFL team to beat an NFL team in the AFL-NFL World Championship Game when they beat the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, a victory that quarterback Joe Namath publicly guaranteed. The Jets played at the Polo Grounds until 1965 and then moved to Shea Stadium, which they shared with the New York Mets. The Jets moved to Giants Stadium for the 1984 season, and have been there ever since. Still, it's very common for Jets fans to be Mets fans, and vice versa.
